4th of July fun!

Our 4th of July fun happened in 2 parts.  Our neighborhood always does festivities the weekend before, with fireworks, so we went even with the heat!  I wasn't sure how long Hunter would stay, considering, we had driven back from Lynchburg earlier in the day, where he had slept a super short time, then didn't nap once we were home.  We hung out with friends, the kids all played, and all watched the fireworks.  Hunter was such a little trooper.  I think he was having so much fun, he didn't even realize that it was WAY past his bedtime.
Allie got her face painted like a lion

The only picture I could get of the 2 of them.  Hunter just would not look up, he was so interested in the light up toy I'd given him.

On the 4th, we went to a park with a lake and had a picnic.  It was a fun day despite the heat.  Then later we headed to the pool to cool off.

Sky had lots of fun swimming after sticks

Allie had lots of fun throwing the sticks to Sky

Hunter really excited...I feel like he was saying..."look at Sky in the lake!"

Hunter wants to do whatever Allie is doing.

Summer trip to Lynchburg

At the end of June, Allie, Hunter and I went to Lynchburg to visit Granny and Papa for a few days.  I was excited to take the kids to L'burg because Granny and Papa had fixed their pool up, and it is running and sparkly this summer.

I was also super excited because my dear friend and wonderful photographer Cindy was also in town visiting her family, so we met up and she took the kids pictures! When the photo shot was over, and met up at the Riverside Spray park for some water fun and a picnic!

I love how the "big kids", Allie and Miles, and giving their little siblings, Hunter and Lawson tight squeezes, so they would stay for the picture!

Everyday we went swimming, usually twice a day.  Allie has really started swimming so well.  Everyday, we practiced her "swimming lessons," as she called them.  We did a little shopping, swam a lot, played at a park, went to see Madagascar 3, and even found a new bounce house!   Joey and Kate came to town the night before we left, and all hung out in the pool.  We got to see Kate's beautiful engagement ring, and talk about the wedding!   It was such a nice visit, even if a terrible wind storm did come and knock out the power their for 6 days (still waiting for power...so it could be more).
