Alvin and the Chipmunks party
Allie decided on an Alvin and the Chipmunks party at home this year. All the kids came in their pajamas, because after the "party", there was a late night movie with popcorn. We had a blast with 8 of Allie's friends here. The kids played musical chairs, which was a big hit, freeze dance and pin the "A" on Alvin's shirt. They also made cool microphones, made homemade pizzas and of course had cupcakes! Brian and I were non-stop for 4 hours, and Hunter also had a blast at Allie's party. The night ended with an Alvin movie, popcorn, and 9 kids laying all over the floor and couch giggling to the Chipmunk movie.
Happy 6th Birthday, Allie!
Allie's birthday was just a few days ago on April 13th. I know I say this every year, that she's growing up so fast, but really 6? It doesn't seem like 6 whole years have gone by. I'm so lucky to be able to stay at home with her and watch her grow up into a beautiful, smart, talented and loving little girl.
Brian always takes the day off for the kids birthdays, which I love that he does that. We get to spend the day together as a family celebrating. This year, we opened presents, and had cake before Allie went to school. She had several things to open, but I would have to say her 3 favorite gifts she got from Brian and I are a Lava Lamp for her bedroom, a funny book she loves Brian to read to her called Bad Kitty, and a trip to Build-A-Bear.
After Allie got out of school, we went to Build-A-Bear. She has wanted to go to this store for probably a year, but we just have never taken her. She was so excited. She looked at all her options and choose an "Alvin" from the Chipmunks movie. Prefect choice considering her party the next day was an Alvin and the Chipmunk party!

Easter 2012
Easter is always lots of fun. The bunny came, bought lots of goodies for the kids basket. We had our annual Easter Egg Hunt with Allie's play group that she's been friends with since infancy, and then did the big neighborhood egg hunt. At the neighborhood egg hunt, the kids took a picture with the Bunny. Hunter was not scared at all, and walked right up to him, but would not look at the camera. Of course, no Easter is complete without dyeing Easter eggs, which Allie loves to do. Next year, I think Hunter will be able to join in on that activity.

I feel like he's thinking "I think this is what you do?"
Allie has always been an Easter egg hunt pro.
Look mom, they open!
Wonder if he could stretch any further?
Good thing Allie was at the big egg hunt to help!
I can't believe she posed for such a cute picture!
Happy Easter
Spring Break
This year spring break was lots of fun, even though we didn't travel anywhere. Brian worked Monday and Tuesday. Those days the kids and I had play dates and went to the bounce house. It was Hunter's 1st time at the bounce house and he loved it. Allie loved helping him, and of course bouncing herself!

In the bouncer for smaller kids.
Then Wednesday, we all went to the Reston Zoo. Allie hasn't been there in almost 2 years and Hunter was only about 8 weeks old, and slept the last time he went. I thought this would be a great place for him to really see lots of animals up close. Boy, did they have a great time. Allie had her journal and she wrote sentence for all the animals she saw and Hunter wanted to hug every animal. We petted goats and sheep, and fed large animals and our wagon ride. In the gift shop Allie bought at leopard, and names him Alex, which you will see in later pictures.

This was Hunter at EVERY animal that came up to the fence. It is a great place for feeding sheep and goats. He just wanted to hug them all.
I think Allie would have stuck this cute little lamb in the car with us if she could have.
On the wagon ride.
Thursday, we had a great morning visiting friends that are were in from Texas, then played soccer in the backyard.
On Friday, Brian and Allie took a trip to DC. She loves going, and while I would have liked to go, they did so much more and stayed longer. I too had fun, shopping with Hunter. Brian, Allie and her stuffed animal Alex (which she bought at the Reston Zoo), had a great time.
