A visit to Lynchburg

I decided to take the kids to Lynchburg last week for a quick visit to see Granny and Papa. Brian has been traveling some, so it was a nice change of pace for us. Both kids were awesome in the car. Thank goodness, we have children who like to ride in the car. Allie didn't even have her portable DVD player to watch movies, and did awesome just listening to music, playing her leapster and with Hunter. Allie still sleeps on car rides, so at times I got to listen to my own music while both kids were asleep! WOW!

Papa and Hunter!

I love this picture.

Allie was so sweet and wanted to bring something that her and Papa could do together. She brought her Iron Man puzzle.

Handsome boy! Allie was playing, while Hunter and I watched.

Love this one too!

We also celebrated Papa's upcoming birthday with cake and pictures that Allie made for him. She was so excited to have a birthday cake with him.

Not many pictures with Granny this time. She was working while we were there, so next time we head down, hopefully she'll have off. Love you Granny!

Smiles and Giggles!

Allie and Hunter really love to play with each other. I love watching them everyday, or listening to them giggle together. Just the other day in the car Allie was doing her "fake burps" at Hunter. He was giggling so hard at her. That was a sweet car moment!

Sitting up and playing for the 1st time in the pack and play.

I feel like he's thinking...Hey mom, want to play?

Allie's got Hunter!!

In a high chair at a restaurant.

All smiles while shopping a Target! I think this was his 2nd time sitting up in a shopping cart. He really is always this happy :)

Allie is super proud of her hotel she made for her Squinkies! (squinkies are the tiniest toys ever!)

Is it Spring Yet?

Well, it is only February, but we have been hit with a few gorgeous days outside, and we took FULL advantage of the warm sun while it lasted. As soon as Hunter would go down for his afternoon nap, Allie and I would head outside. She loved being outdoors! She rode her bike, scooter, played chalk, hola-hooped and we even washed my car!

Once Hunter would wake up, he would join us outside for his bottle, and playtime. Those sunny, warm days were short lived, but it gave a good taste of what's just around the corner....SPRING!

Start of a New Year!

The kids are growing up so fast. I think I say that all the time, but it's so true.

Hunter cut his 2nd bottom tooth the beginning of January. He can now roll over like a champ, and sit up. He takes the occasional topple, but then just plays on his tummy or back. He's starting to make the "M" sound. He eats like a champ! 4 bottles and breakfast, lunch and dinner baby food. Wow! He now loves to watch the cats, and Allie just cracks him up. Oh, Hunter is SUPER ticklish, especially under his chin and armpits. He has the best belly laugh when you get his tickle spots! He is still an awesome sleeper. We couldn't ask for more! He goes to bed around 7pm. I usually go get him around 7am, and then he takes a 2 hr. nap in the morning and usually a 1 1 /2 hr. nap in the afternoon. The boy loves his sleep!

Now, Miss Allie is also growing, learning and is such a sweetheart. She loves math. She wants to do addition and subtraction ALL the time. She's learning the names of coins and can count to 100 by 10's. For a few months now she has been able to spell TYDLACKA! She loves school and learning. Allie started gymnastics at the Little Gym, and is having a blast. I'll have to post pictures of that after next weeks class. We finally got a good snow where her and Brian could go out to play and sleigh ride. She's also taken a big interest on in playing board or card games. That's lots of fun to do as a family! She will start soccer in the spring again. She talks lots and lots about her upcoming birthday in April and her party. For the longest time, she has wanted it at the house, but now she is saying Chuck E Cheese. So, we will see as we get closer the verdict. She is still really into superheros. Just tonight, we bought her Valentine's cards, and Spiderman was her choice.

Brian and I are doing well. We are looking forward to spring and our trip to Jamaica! The kids will be staying here and in good hands with Mimi (Brian's mom)
